It gave me access to health care from a timing standpoint, efficiency standpoint and a quality standpoint that I did not have before. I don’t believe I’d have access [to these things] outside of the PartnerMD relationship.
Over time, PartnerMD looks at not just dealing with a particular issue, but how to maintain a higher standard of health so that the result of that is your life is at a higher quality, whatever you might be doing.
I’ve had a lot of conversations with Dr. Pong on how to keep my quality of life at a high level, and for me to run at the pace I want to run as I get older - for as long as I can.
So, for all of us who still have a lot of things that we want to do in life, there is the thought of “How do I make sure I’m healthy enough to do the things I want to do over the span of my life?"
If you don’t look at the health side, assuming you do have a list [of things you want to do], you are going to have a hard time doing all the things you want to do if you’re not healthy.Just about anything we want to do in life is going to cost money. If you’ve made the commitment to do things [in life] and spend dollars, but you don’t make a commitment to spend dollars on your health care and looking out for yourself, then you have a conflict. You can’t do the things you want to do but not look after your health.
To me, it’s a natural justification, it’s an investment. If I want to do these things over a long period of time - whether it's now in my 50’s, or my 60’s, or 70’s - I’m not going to be able to do those things if I don’t invest in my health.
PartnerMD is committed to me. The team - whether it’s my physician or the staff - I feel a commitment to me to do everything possible to help me stay healthy and help me do the things that I want to do. In a word, it’s commitment.
