Meet Dr. Dillon
As a board-certified family physician and concierge doctor in Midlothian, VA, Dr. Caitlin Dillon is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients to understand their needs and provide them with dedicated, exceptional care.
She believes in partnering with her patients to both solve complex medical problems and promote healthy living through preventive care.
For Dr. Dillon, the most important thing is building a relationship with her patients.
"Family medicine allows me to form long-term relationships with my patients and emphasize preventive care over reactive care," Dr. Dillon says. "If I can build a relationship with you, we do not need to start fresh at the beginning of every visit. We can pick up where we left off and build on what we know."
One reason Dr. Dillon enjoys practicing primary care is the variety of people and issues she helps with.
"During medical school, I discovered I enjoyed all aspects of medicine – from gastroenterology to dermatology to endocrinology and more," Dr. Dillon says. "I enjoy caring for both adults and children and helping people navigate all stages of life. Family medicine allows me to channel all of that for my patients."
Dr. Dillon began her career as a research scientist at Columbia University, where she focused on cardiac pharmacology. A former two-sport collegiate athlete at Wesleyan University, Dr. Dillon also has a master’s degree in exercise physiology.
She uses both her exercise physiology background and her experience in cardiovascular health to provide personalized, understandable advice to her patients.
She frequently helps patients with women’s health and mental health issues, and she enjoys incorporating things like meditation or cross-training into her care.
"I make suggestions. You make decisions. I have a background as an athlete, so I picture us as teammates," she says. "My job is to share best practices and information to figure out where we are starting from and then strive for progress."
She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed her residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA, where she was also Chief Resident.
Before PartnerMD, she practiced at Bon Secours as a primary care physician at Charter Colony Family Practice.
