**Dr. Wein is not accepting new patients.
Becoming a primary care doctor was the best of both worlds for Dr. Barry Wein.
"It’s the perfect combination of science and interacting with people," he says. "I get to develop deep relationships with my patients while using knowledge from several specialties to treat people better."
For the last 30+ years as a board-certified family physician and concierge doctor in Short Pump, VA, Dr. Wein has focused his care on just that.
"I’m trying to give them my knowledge and recommendations to help them be healthier," he says. "That’s why I enjoy being at PartnerMD. I have the time to explain what we’re looking for and how to get there."
Dr. Wein feels strongly about being thorough with medical care and providing enough time for his patients to tell him the full story of their health.
During his first meeting with new patients, he looks to learn about why they are coming to PartnerMD, what their past healthcare experiences have been, and what goals they want to achieve.
That information ultimately leads to one of the best parts about being a doctor.
"When someone has a big success and meets one of their goals, that’s very fulfilling for me," Dr. Wein says. "Whether it’s bringing their blood sugar down, or losing weight and exercising to bring their blood pressure down... when a patient sees the results they want, that’s what we’re all looking for."
