As an internal medicine doctor in Greenville, SC, for the last 25+ years, Dr. Jana Morse has made it her mission to help people modify their lives so they need as little medical intervention as possible.
"Healthy diet. Regular exercise. Good sleep. Those are the pillars of our health," she says. "If we don’t get those right, all the pills in the world aren’t going to help."
Dr. Morse combines a focus on holistic, preventive medicine with her gracious, kind personality to deliver attentive care to all her patients.
"I try to provide the same kind of care to my patients that I would want someone to provide my family," she says.
And when she sees her patients having success? That’s the goal.
"When you help people get out of an emotional or medical tailspin and get them back to cruising speed, it’s very rewarding," she says. "They begin to enjoy life and engage in hobbies and do things that they thought were lost to them. That’s when I know I’m in the right place."
When first meeting with patients, Dr. Morse likes to dive into the joys of her patients’ lives.
"What do you enjoy doing? What do you do to relieve stress? How do you handle what life throws at you? That’s what I want to know," she says.
"Then it’s about figuring out how we can modify your lifestyle so that you can keep doing what you love and if at all possible, get off medication."

Philosophy of Care
"My job is to figure out how we can keep your engine running and maintain it so it doesn’t require repair down the line. And that all starts with eating healthy food, getting enough sleep every night, and getting regular exercise."
Favorite Part About Being a Doctor
"Helping people get better, feel better, and gain confidence in their abilities to manage their health."
With her father in the Air Force, Dr. Morse spent her childhood moving around the United States before settling in Greenville with her family in 1991 for good.
Outside the office, she loves doing just a little bit of everything and is willing to try just about anything. "I recently accidentally took up ballroom dancing. It’s going pretty well I think."
She also enjoys distance cycling and spending a lot of time in the gym. "When your body feels strong, your mind feels stronger," she says.
Part of that includes experience in martial arts. She’s a black belt in tae kown do, although she doesn’t use it much anymore.
"Unless someone startles me," she says.
