**Dr. Bussiere is not accepting new patients.
As a board-certified family physician and concierge doctor in Short Pump, VA, Dr. Nicole Bussiere works with patients of all ages to organize their healthcare situations and focuses on preventive care that keeps them as healthy as possible.
"It doesn’t matter which body part or how many problems are involved," Dr. Bussiere says. "I am committed to providing clear education and thorough explanations so that, together, we can make the best decision."
Dr. Bussiere has always been drawn to learning how things work and working with her hands, both of which drew her to medicine. She found a passion for primary care while working in rural medicine during medical school.
"The people I worked with really knew their patients. They’d known them for decades," she says. "They built relationships with them and their families and were involved throughout their lives. That’s what I love about primary care."
Dr. Bussiere has extensive experience in women’s health and pelvic issues, including pessary fitting and maintenance for pelvic organ prolapse. She is also experienced in end-of-life care and minor procedures.
"Most of all, I love having conversations and explaining as much as possible,” she says. "With more time, I can deliver the kind of attentive care patients deserve."
Dr. Bussiere is non-judgmental and open-minded, and she is an LGBTQ-friendly physician. She enjoys working with individuals with all kinds of different lifestyles and is open to alternative medicine techniques if scientific evidence supports them.

Philosophy of Care
"My goal as a physician is to give you the attention you deserve, not to stare at a computer screen during our visits," Dr. Bussiere says. "I listen. I want to hear what you say and where you are coming from."
Favorite Part About Being a Doctor
"Having a patient make positive lifestyle changes and see things improve. It makes my day to see a patient's lab work improve because they put in the work and made the diet and exercise changes we discussed."
Dr. Bussiere is married with a young son and moved to Richmond in late 2022 after starting her career in Texas and Wisconsin.
She loves to travel and has been to France, Belgium, Netherlands, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Kenya, Nepal, Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Italy, and the U.K.
"Japan is on my bucket list," she says.
In her free time, Dr. Bussiere loves sewing, leatherworking, woodworking, reading, yoga, and board games.
She also loves working in her hydroponic garden and making Central Texas-style BBQ (as you can see in this photo).
