As a board-certified internist and concierge doctor in Midlothian, VA, Dr. Vicki Latham-Solomon places preventive care at the heart of her relationships with her patients.
"I chose to become a primary care physician because I wanted to make a difference in helping people prevent illness, not just treat it," Dr. Latham-Solomon says.
Dr. Latham-Solomon has particular experience treating adults with chronic medical issues such as hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. She frequently helps patients identify red flags of illness that could surface in the future.
Dr. Latham-Solomon strives to connect personally with her patients so she can deliver customized care to help manage, resolve, and improve health.
"Many people entering their 40s, 50s, and even 60s have medical issues they can work on right now to feel better, but also have a fear of future illness," she says. "I enjoy working with those patients to address those concerns, as well as to create an action plan to help allay those fears."
As the daughter of two physicians, Dr. Latham-Solomon grew up around medicine and knows the importance of having an empathetic, honest relationship with a physician you can trust.
She believes in connecting with her patients and learning about who they are as a person because she believes that helps put together a more complete picture of health.
"In treating a patient it's very important to know who they are, their support system, and their medical and personal history," she says. "From there, we can dive into what's concerning you right now, and what is worrying you about the future."
